Šibenik Plus is the proud winner of The Golden Embroidery recognition, awarded to the best tourist agency in Šibenik-Knin region
Today tourists are in search of “the last uncovered destination.”
This is a huge advantage of Croatia and Croatian part of Mediterranean on the travellers map. But when you have different cultures in one place, effects are unavoidable. It is therefore very important that every interaction with local population, untouched nature and cultural heritage shows understanding and respect for cultural differences and does not affect places of visit.
Travellers of our time want to be responsible and informed on their travels and companies have been increasing efforts to contribute to development of responsible and sustainable tourism.
Šibenik Plus is actively involved in this area of tourism. From the founding idea, to our overall work, our motive is to promote , to create a nice relationship between tourists and locals and to preserve, and where possible, to enhance the beauty of nature and cultural heritage.
"In the end, we will conserve only what we love. We love only what we understand. We will understand only what we are taught." Baba Dioum, Senegalese PoetIf you are a mathematical type, numbers will help you to understand how magnificent this area really is. Šibenik region - situated on the central part of Croatian Adriatic, in the heart of Dalmatia.
Šibenik County is an area with 2 National parks, 14 medieval fortresses, 230 cultural monuments, 300 islands and 600 archaeological localities.
Šibenik is on middle Mediterranean and it is a fortress city next to the sea with an imposing St. James Cathedral, build exactly 105 years ago from white stone blocks and without any other binding material to support it.
St. James Cathedral is a combination of unique Gothic and renaissance style with 71 heads surrounding the walls and with sculptures and mosaics in the interior. In the year 2000 it was added to UNESCO protected world heritage localities.
Two national parks – National park Krka (Krka waterfalls) and National park Kornati, natural parks Lake Vranja and South Velebit; cities and little towns that have become the most wanted Mediterranean tourist destinations: Skradin, Vodice, Primošten, Rogoznica, Tribunj, Murter…
Small islands and Dalmatian villages living the Mediterranean as it once was: Prvić, Zlarin, Krapanj, Kaprije, Žirje…
Picturesqueness of these Dalmatian islands, tradition that locals are still nourishing, tiny hidden beaches and caves, beautiful coast and the clearest sea in the world will leave you breathless…and will enrich your soul.
Then you will truly know why Šibenik has been pronounced to be the most beautiful nautical Adriatic destination and one of the 5 most beautiful rocky cities of Mediterranean. Šibenik tourism is growing rapidly and Šibenik tourists every year are coming in larger number.
Don't miss to be one of them!
Italy’s La Repubblica brings an article in its travel column entitled “Beach life in the city center”, where, alongside world-famous tourist destinations such as Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Florence, Graz, London, Paris, Prague and Zurich, they list Sibenik as a must-see tourist attraction, in particular thanks to its newly built city beach.
Sibenik earned its place in the list among these other prestigious cities primarily due to its Banj Beach, just five minutes away from the old city center where “apart from a nice swim in the clean sea, you can also enjoy a magnificent view of the UNESCO-protected St. Jacob’s Cathedral.
According to La Repubblica, this is “a unique cathedral in Europe, made exclusively out of stone and without any materials that would bind the construction, such as cement or wood.” The news website adds that at nightfall, the beach “turns into a stage for concerts and night swimming.”
