The Krka National Park is only 20 km far by air from the Kornati National Park.
Of all the rivers in the Croatian Karst, the most beautiful is without doubt the river Krka. This is the area of extreme beauty and aesthetic value: it includes more eco – systems that have been preserved or somewhat changed, and the area along the Krka river. It is intended primarily for scientific, cultural, educational, recreational, and tourism activities such as visiting National park Krka and sightseeing. With its seven travertine waterfalls and a total drop of 242 meters, the Krka River is a natural and karstic phenomenon.
Of the numerous waterfalls, the most beautiful ones are the Skradin and Roški cascades. Between these cascades is a section of the river that forms a lake, on which is the small islet Visovac which hosts an attractive Franciscan monastery.
